This Ostrich egg creation is painted with metallic pearl white, covered with a silver lattice and dotted with Swarovski set stones to give it a "prickly icy look". The snowflake brooch is an unsigned vintage piece. The outside is edged with small Swarovski stones, crisp dark silver lace trim and icicles that have an aurora borealis sheen to them. The stand is leaded crystal with diamond dust accents. Inside is a garden fairy playing on a shimmery dark gray gossamer padded "cloud", surrounded by sparking 3-D snowflakes and playing with one. The top inside is NOT banded like it seems to be - it is paved with over 1200 1/4" holographic sequins that had to be taken off individually from fabric or strips because you can't get these FLAT ones - only cupped ones in a packages! They are put on individually and overlap each other to cover the little holes - like a snake skin, giving the inside a very magical rainbow effect that changes from the slightest change of angle or movement. The fairy has clear diamond dust on her dress and wings to give it a frosty look.
