Ferret in the Garden - an Emu Egg with magnificent detailing!

From egg artist Peg M. Gardiner.  Is there a ferret in your garden?  This diorama emu egg was originally designed for a lady that had several ferrets, but can be made to suit other family pets.

Notice the detailing on this egg.   The emu egg has been painted a soft cream inside
and out.  The decoupaged roses on the outside of the egg are raised, giving a lovely three dimensional look.  Please note that the decoupage continues around the entire egg, even below the normal viewing points. 

Inside the egg, the "wallpaper" is cream with tiny green leaves and is decorated to look like the ferrets are in a garden arbor.  There are three ferrets inside the egg, each looking out a different window.

The three window openings appear to be framed by twisted bark.  The two windows in the back (above left) give additional views of the inside detailing of the egg. The side view of the egg (above right) shows delicate carving skill and adds additional texture interest to the egg.

 The gold stand chosen for this egg complements the overall design and is included with the egg.
